Peace of Mind and Insurance Savings

Let our experience guide you. With over 15,000 wind mitigation inspections completed in the Tampa Bay area since 2009 Fair Wind Inspections brings extensive knowledge to every inspection. A wind mitigation inspection will bring you peace of mind. Knowing more about your home's wind resistive features and how to better protect your property during a hurricane is vital to living in Florida.

Significant homeowners insurance savings can also be obtained by completing a wind mitigation inspection. In 2007 the Florida Legislature approved an amendment to §627.0629 (1) which stated “A rate filing for residential property insurance must include actuarially reasonable discounts, credits, or other rate differentials, or appropriate reductions in deductibles, for properties on which fixtures or construction techniques demonstrated to reduce the amount of loss in a windstorm have been installed or implemented.”

This law requires insurance companies working in the State of Florida to provide discounts on your homeowners insurance due to wind mitigating features. Nearly all homes in Florida will have at least one feature which qualifies.

Save Hundreds to Thousands of Dollars Annually

To potentially save thousands of dollars on your home owners insurance you need to have a Wind Mitigation Inspection preformed by a licensed state certified architect, engineer, building contractor or home inspector. Our primary goal is to educate our clients on the benefits of wind mitigating features that may be applied to their home, as well as save them a substantial amount of money on their homeowners insurance. These are both things we do every day in the Tampa Bay Area.

It’s quite simple and in less than an hour you could be saving up to 80% on the wind portion of your homeowners insurance. This can also be known as the hurricane or windstorm portion of your policy. Depending on where you are located and who your insurance provider is, the windstorm portion of your insurance can easily be 70% of your total homeowners insurance policy. Let’s do some math. If your paying $3,000 a year for homeowners insurance and 70% of that is the windstorm premium, that’s $2,100. If your home has 6 or 7 wind mitigating features, up to 80% of that amount can be deducted from your policy by Florida Law. That’s a saving of $1,680 per year!
